EDGELESS

ABOUT

Edgeless. There is no place where this begins. No distant horizon where existence meets its ending. No boundary between the silence and the song that rises from it.

The ocean does not know where its waves begin. The sky has never touched the edge of itself. And the light that rests upon the morning has never traveled from somewhere else.

What appears does not enter what is. What disappears has never departed. The breath, the trembling leaf, the warmth of sunlight upon an open hand, not fragments of something greater, but the indivisible appearing as each.

There is no center from which to look. No circumference beyond which something else awaits. Even the one who searches for the edgeless is the edgeless appearing as searching. And when the searching falls away, nothing is found. For nothing was ever hidden.

The apparent distance between here and there, between this and that, between the one who loves and the love that is felt, has never been crossed. There was no distance to cross. And still, the rivers flow. The stars shimmer. The body breathes. A smile appears without invitation.

The ordinary wears the infinite without knowing there is anything to wear. No inside. No outside. No threshold through which anything must pass. Not even oneness standing opposed to two.

Only this. Unbounded. Unheld. Unbroken.

And so exquisitely without an edge that even the word edgeless dissolves into what has never needed a name.
